Moncayo Natural Park spreads throughout 11,000hectares. Its height and isolation have provided it an outstanding vegetal variety and being so close from Saragossa makes many visitors to spend their weekend in the middle of nature at this privileged location.

It puts together a great number of environments, from extremely dry areas to exuberant beech forests. These ecosystems shelter a wide wildlife like wild boars, roebuck, golden eagle and other raptors.

Tarazona, San Martín de la Virgen del Moncayo and the Cistercian monastery of Veruela form the main access points to the Natural Park from Aragón.

The Park as well as the surrounding area offer a bunch of paths for trekking. On of them departs from Agramonte and leads to Moncayo’s peak. Another one comes from Tarazona to the shrine ‘Virgen de la Misericordia’. We suggest you driving from Tarazona to Agramonte and, from there on, on foot.

Moncayo also outstands due to its mushroom variety. Fungi are a source of food for a wide range of animals, but they are also a more and more appreciated resource in ‘haute cuisine’.
